Delicious

I signed up with Delicous a few weeks back and actually found it to be one of the most useful web programs! I used it as part of research while collaborating with a team of tech specilists since the program allows the user research topics and then remotely bookmark websites, tag them and then share with whomever you choose. YES! no more bookmarking just on your personal computer and trying to remember the site you visited or researching all over again because you were no where near the computer you initially did the bookmarking.

We researched websites on poverty in America and tagged them, then shared them with our group. Very user friendly.

Flickr

I found that initiating an account was easy with Flickr since I already had a Yahoo email address, I was already registered. Setting up was very easy too. Flickr could be used as part of group work as well since it promotes collaborative researching (adding, sharing, tagging, discussing etc). It is a from of delicious only with photos. I took an image off flickr without paying attention to the fact that it was copyrighted. It was my first day on Flickr and I had been experimenting downloading and uploading photos. It didn't take long for the owner of the photo (about 6 hours later), to demand I remove it. I felt really embarrassed and apologized. Explaining that I had only been practicing using Flickr.

That said. I love the program. It facilitates researching and encourages social networking.

Google Docs

I introduced Google Docs to a group i'm working with on another class project. It is fantastic! No one in the group knew a thing about Google Docs. I think it's interesting that this resource has been around for a while but we are just finding out about it. Could it be because we are not educators? It think of the 2 (Google Docs and WebQuest) although they are both collaborative instruments, I see myself using Google Docs more in the future.

WebQuest

I find WebQuest a bit of a wonder. I'm not a teacher and I have never used it as a student... time will tell if I think it useful. (my opinion of course).

Wiki and webspiration

I finally finished reading Dewey's book. The book and his theories were very interesting...
I'm also getting to enjoy working on Webspiration and wiki. I used the upload feature on wiki to obtain a web address for a photo I tagged on webspiration. Was that neat or what!
